Ethics Module 4 (created November 2012)
Our ethical reputation is all our concern.
We launched the Thales UK Ethics awareness campaign in 2010 to supplement the Group ethics e-learning programme. To date we have issued three training modules covering:
1. Expected behaviours and how you raise concerns,
2. The UK Bribery Act, which came into force in the UK on 1 July 2011,
3. Gifts and Hospitality
We are launching below our fourth module on Reputational Risk.
Thales UK's reputation is as important as the services and products it provides. However, reputations are fragile and once damaged might never recover. Everyone will be aware of the damage done to the aerospace and defence sector by bribery and corruption allegations, which, in many cases refer to events some years ago. All of us must therefore be aware of how inappropriate behaviours could damage our reputation.
We have seen examples of industry being affected through actions that have caused a loss of reputation, Barclays, G4S and News International to name but a few.
This training module is again mandatory for all employees and contractors. It will take you no longer than 15-20 minutes.
For those few employees who have yet to complete the previous training modules, you are reminded that completion is mandatory. Any employees who have not yet completed the other training modules should do so as a matter of urgency.
